bloom effect is a Vancouver, BC–based shoegaze/dream-pop trio formed by Argentine-born vocalist/bassist Jula Lafit, UK-born guitarist Craig Weighman, and drummer Tom Rappa. Blending ethereal textures with driving rhythms, their sound draws from Cocteau Twins and Alvvays. Their debut EP portents earned airplay on KEXP and DKFM, while 2025’s oscilón, released via Kingfisher Bluez, expanded their cosmic, euphoric sound. The band completed their first East Coast tour across Ontario and Quebec in 2025 and made their European debut in 2026, continuing to emerge as one of Canada’s most exciting new shoegaze voices.
